Quest Old Vine Chenin Blanc 2020 awarded Gold at the USA Wine Ratings

One of our youngest Breedekloof Makers Chenin Blanc vintages from Quest (produced by Du Toitskloof Wines) was recently awarded Gold at the USA Wine Ratings 2021.

Quest Old Vine Chenin Blanc 2020 is made from a 36-year-old vine on a Breedekloof farm named Platdrif. For the second year, Breedekloof Maker Willie Stofberg made his 2,500L Chenin Blanc wine using a combination of wine matured in barrels, stainless steel tanks and amphora clay pots.

“This is the first year we’ve entered Quest wines into international wine competitions and I’m really glad to see the range competing well against wines from all over the world,” commented Willie Stofberg.

The USA Wine Ratings judge according to three categories: Quality, Value and Packaging (design). In order to win an award, a wine needs to score highly in all three categories of the judging criteria that are judged by 32 American judges ranging from qualified Masters of Wine, Sommeliers, Wine Product Developers and Wine Buyers.
