Sommeliers Selection lists two Breedekloof Makers Chenin Blancs

Sommeliers Selection is judged solely by a panel of South Africa’s top sommeliers in categories moulded around those of a “wine list”. Winning wines, referred to as “Listed Wines” are listed on the sought-after Sommeliers Selection wine list and this year sees two Breedekloof Makers Chenin Blancs on the list.

Quest and Daschbosch are the only two South African Chenin Blancs that made it onto the “Listed Wines”.

Wines are judged blind, by 1 chairman, two panels consisting of 3 sommeliers and one associate each - not in context of grape variety, but rather wine style and price point. Winning wines are awarded the title ‘Sommelier Selected Listed Wines’, along with the category in which it achieved selection.

Categories include Economically Savvy, Fresh&Crunchy, Elegant&Classy, Voluptuous&Rich and Luscious&Aromatic.

Quest Old Vine Chenin Blanc 2020 produced by Du Toitskloof was listed under Fresh&Crunchy, while Daschbosch Mossiesdrift Steen 2020 produced by Uniwines secured a place under Elegant&Classy.
